Music Video Drawing On The Submissions Along With A Major Media Partner Announcement Coming Soon

Tampa, FL – Tony-nominated and Platinum-selling singer/songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway wrote the song, “At The Same Time,” in 1987, when she was a struggling writer trying to make a name for herself in New York City. Ten years later, the legendary Barbra Streisand took it to number one on the US Billboard charts, driving two platinum albums, Higher Ground and the live recording, Timeless. “At The Same Time” quickly became a global anthem of hope, drawing on shared experiences around the world, with a powerful message: no matter what we may be going through in our own lives, someone somewhere else is going through the same thing, at the same time.

That message was instantly recognized by world leaders on the song’s initial release. It was shared with millions by the Soviet Union’sPresident Gorbachev in his book, Americans Write Gorbachev; by United States President Clinton in a speech he gave at the Los AngelesNational Presidential Gala; and again by New York Governor Cuomo when he made “At The Same Time” the theme of the Decade of the Child.

Fast forward another two decades. Ann Hampton Callaway—by now a star in her own right—records her own version of the anthem early in 2017, and launches an international music video and photo contest with a concept unlike any seen before: a video which will capture footage on the same day, at the same time, all over the world. The idea? Illustrate the song’s message in a literal way, with real footage of real people live’s joined to create a call for unity and the understanding that none of us have to be alone. Her fans respond to her vision and over five hundred submissions from twenty five countries—Mexico, India, Japan, Iraq, New Zealand, and South Africa among them—pour in.

Overwhelmed by the response, Ann recently said, “Making a music video of ‘At the Same Time’ has been a bucket list dream for me. The spirit of the song—a celebration of human connectedness—revealed itself in all the people who came together in the contest. How amazing to have responses from 25 countries and over 500 entries! The support of my friends and fans has touched my heart deeply, and I have no doubt the final product will be a true global blessing!”

Ann chose a panel of esteemed celebrity friends to join her in judging the contest: Fran Drescher, Lucie Arnaz, Melissa Manchester and Seth Rudetsky. She’s proud to announce the winners of the contest in the following three categories:
